Attention all fans !

A New and More Complete Biography !

Yvonne De Carlo biography info 1922-2008

When starting her autobiography in the early 1980's, Yvonne wrote to the famous Broadway Lyric Writer, Stephan Sondheim, admitting "I am writing my autobiography - Reluctantly."  This was due to the fact that many people were still living who would have taken offense by an account told with candor and inconvenient details .

The new biography, which will be far beyond the confines of the 1987 account, is being self published at this time, in a serialized form.

It is entitled:

"Sapphire in the Sand"

"Yvonne De Carlo - Life in the Storm Of Stardom "

In this biography, we will see her life from the point of view of her personal diaries in both written form and spoken audio.  In addition, there will also be narrative accounts by her son, Bruce R. Morgan.  As her son, he has an unique point of view of her very personal experiences, enabling us to understand what is termed here as:

  The STORM OF STARDOM.

This is the story of how in 1934, a little Canadian girl traveled from Vancouver, Canada to Hollywood, California to launch a spectacular Studio Star Career and Life.

Yvonne De Carlo using wit, intelligence and charm was able to maintain her Studio Star Status, all the while rebelling against the demands and pressures of the whole star process .

You will read directly from her early pre-stardom diary!

You will hear from her friends!

You will learn about Yvonne De Carlo from her closest surviving family member, her son, Bruce R. Morgan.

Joining in the research effort on the way to completing this unique biography are several long time friends of Yvonne.  The collective effort, as well as, the mixed media of written text audio and video clips will make this an incomparable biography not seen in the present market of BIO BOOKS .

Bruce R. Morgan has said:

"I believe that a review of my mother's full life story is going to be useful to anyone who wishes to enter the entertainment industry and still preserve the sense of being an individual.  A sentiment espoused through the lyrics in Stephen Sondheim's song "I'm Still Here";  the idea that the individual in the star system is a dynamic, challenging, and in the end, a productive journey."
